Mostly Business, A Little Fun

[Suit Jacket] Ben Sherman [Suit Trousers] Ben Sherman [Shirt] Dolce & Gabbana [Coat] Neill Katter [Tie] Bottega Veneta [Shoes] Zara [Portfolio] Bottega Veneta [Glasses] Tods

I many not work a 9 to 5 job or actually work at all but I’m very much aware that a huge percentage of men are forced day after day to wear suits. This is because many offices have strict dress codes that require men to wear a suit and tie. I think an outfit such as what I’m wearing would nine times out of ten be acceptable as an alternative to the simple grey suit that you're currently wearing. If you’re not feeling brave enough or if you think that an outfit like this wouldn’t fly in your office then there’s a simple solution. All you have to do is wear your grey suit and at the end of the work day when it’s time to head out for a drink with colleagues or meet your Tinder date (not advising the use of Tinder) just switch out your grey suit jacket for another one. It can be the jacket from your blue work suit or even better a dark green or burgundy jacket similar to what I’m wearing. I also suggest wearing a pattered coat to add a little interest and to show that you care about the details but of course your go to camel overcoat would look just as good.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Suited in Camo

When it comes to suits it's difficult to find something that will stand out from the crowd. Often little details such as your tie or pocket square make all the difference. You’ve seen me before wearing bolder printed suits such as this window pane option, however, a suit like that can even be appropriate for a business setting. But there is a whole other side of tailoring that many of you may not be familiar with. Nowadays, suits and sport coats can be purchased or made to measure in just about any material and any pattern you can think of. This camo suit is the perfect example. It fits the qualifications of a suit but it’s so casual in nature, making it really separate itself from the pack. I could of worn it with a shirt and tie but I didn’t want to add any details that would take away from the beauty of the bold print. Hope you enjoy this look. Thanks for reading

The Gucci Cape

[Cape] Gucci [Jacket] Dolce & Gabbana [Shirt] Club Monaco [Vest] H&M [Jeans] The Kooples [Tie] Bows-N-Ties [Shoes] Mango [Bracelet] Massimo Dutti [Sunglasses] Marc Jacobs

I’ve never been a person to wear clothing with bold logos. If you look back at all of my previous looks you will see that almost all of my clothes have no brand markings. So you might be asking yourself why am I am wearing such a boldly printed scarf? Well I actually can’t answer that question. I just kind of liked it and thought it was really warm and interesting so I decided to give it a try. If you're wondering, it's not a scarf or cape but actually a blanket from the Gucci home collection, however, I purchased it with the intent to use it as a blanket scarf. As for the rest of the outfit, I tried to keep things classic and simple. I’m wearing one of my favorite pairs of white denim from The Kooples along with a very softly knitted jacket from Dolce & Gabbana. I think this is a very good example of how to wear your white denim in the winter. Please let me know what you guys think about this look. Have a great weekend

Double On Double

[Sports Coat] Sisley [Shirt] Gianfranco Ferre [Trousers] Baldessarini [Loafers] Zara [Portfolio] Bottega Veneta
[Pocket Square] Ermenegildo Zenga [Sunglasses] Trussardi

Today I’m sharing a very simple look with you. I wouldn’t necessarily say this is a go to look for me but outfits like this pretty much sum up my personal style. The focal point is definitely the tartan print double breasted sports coat. I love the look of double breasted blazers and suits but they also have an added advantage in the winter. When buttoned up they do a really great job of covering your chest and preventing your body heat from escaping. I played with patterns a bit and wore a striped shirt that contrasts very nicely against the tartan jacket and because of my friends over at Bows-N-Ties I’m wearing this great silk/wool blend glen check tie. As some of you may already know loafers (and monk straps) are my favorite style of shoe, so for footwear today I decided on a brown tassel loafer. Sticking to the double breasted theme, I bundled up with a double breasted over coat. It’s also the first time I got to take these round lens sunglasses from Trussardi  out of their box. I’m still not entirely sold on them yet. What do you guys think? I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!

Out And About

[Jacket] Dsquared2 [Shirt] Rag & Bone [Suit] Zara [Tie] Altea Milano
[Bracelet] Bottega Veneta [Gloves] Bottega Veneta

Day after day right before I leave my house, the first thing I do is grab one of my topcoats. They are warm enough to fight off the cold plus they match my style perfectly. But today I stepped out of my comfort zone a little and decided to throw on a safari jacket. Ok well it’s not really a safari jacket but it’s pretty close so I’m just gonna go ahead and call it that. This jacket isn’t quiet as warm as a topcoat but it was enough to keep me from shivering. I actually really liked how the length of it is a bit shorter than the suit jacket. Normally that’s something that's frowned upon in the menswear world but I think it adds something a bit unique to the look. I’d love to know what you guys think of todays outfit. Hope you all have a great weekend!

I Don't Pop Molly, I Rock Tom Ford

[Sweater] Tom Ford [Shirt] Dsquared2 [Coat] Baldessarini [Trousers] Henry Cotton's
[Shoes] Ask The Missus [Sunglasses] Dior

The coldest weather of the year came and I had no choice but to pull out my warmest sweater. It happened to be this amazing purplish cable knit sweater from Tom Ford. It’s honestly so thick that I can’t move my arms but movability was the last thing on my mind when the cold wind started blowing in my face. Also this sweater makes me look about 10 pounds heavier which almost stopped me from wearing it but as you can see I went for it anyways. I wore a dark grey overcoat and light grey wool trousers. Both of these pieces are so subtle in color and so basic which made the sweater really pop. I know it’s winter and almost everyone's wearing their boots day in and day out, but I’m personally not the biggest fan of boots. Sure they look great on most people but when it comes to me, I tend to opt for something different. So today I wore a chunky pair of blue monks that kept my feet warm and also matched perfectly with my blue pocket square and the denim shirt that I wore under my sweater. Thanks for reading and I would love to know what you think of my casual look.

Crazy for Moschino

[Jeans] Moschino [Blazer] Theory [Shirt] Club Monaco [Bag] Alexander Wang x H&M
[Tie] Drakes [Shoes] H.E. by Mango [Sunglasses] Marc Jacobs

Looking at these jeans from Moschino you would in no way think that they are something that belongs in my wardrobe. They probably were made to be worn by those who dress in a more punk or street style kind of way and never were intended to be worn with a structured blazer, knit tie and suede loafers. I know it’s different but I kind of like it, actually I really like it. This is also the first time that I got to show a piece from the Alexander Wang x H&M collection that was released in November of 2014. I'm sure many of you picked up some cool pieces and then just forgot about them. Well that happened to me too. As a matter a fact this is the first time I'm wearing one of the 6 pieces that I purchased. I guess all the hype got to me as it does ever year when H&M has a guest designer. But I actually thought the collection was pretty solid and this leather backpack is definitely a keeper.
What do you guys think of this look?

Dragon Tales

[Shirt] Aquascutum London [Tie] Dolce & Gabbana [Dinner Jacket] Zara
[Tuxedo Trousers] Made To Measure [Velvet Slippers] Boss Orange

I have a ton of evening clothes. My formal wear closet consists of everything from the classic black single breasted peak lapel tuxedo, to a white double breasted tuxedo with black silk lapels and even a beautiful printed midnight blue tuxedo that I have yet to wear. My collection also includes many many many dinner jackets including sequenced and studded jackets that are all statement pieces.  Unfortunately I don’t often have the opportunity to wear them. With the party season here I was able to wear a few of my evening outfits during the past few weeks. Here is one of my looks that I wore over the weekend. I apologize about the poor photo quality but with 2015 here, there are big plans to improve the quality and content of Mimosas And Me. I appreciate all of your endless support and guarantee that you can look forward to big changes in the near future. Anyway, as you can see the jacket has red dragon printed cuffs. I just think its so unique and really special. I’m also wearing a burgundy Dolce & Gabbana super skinny tie. Normally I would stick to a classic black bow tie but sometimes it’s important to change things up a bit. Made to measure tuxedo pants and black velvet slippers completed the look. What do you think?
