The Spring Scarf

[Scarf] Bottega Veneta [Blazer] Zara [Shirt] Karl Lagerfeld [Trousers] Michael Bastian
[Shoes] Loake Shoemakers [Tie] Profuomo

Scarfs are such versatile pieces. I never stopped talking about them in the fall and winter but since warmer weather arrived they seemed to have stayed hidden in the back of my closet. That was until I found the perfect spring scarf. This piece from Bottega Veneta is light and thin making it a great accessory to be draped around your neck on a chilly spring day or summer evening. When shopping for a spring scarf look for linen or thin cashmere fabrics, and try to stay away from synthetics because they tend to trap in the heat. You can shop something similar to what I’m wearing here or if you are looking for a more budget friendly option check out Zara's large scarf collection. Once you have one it might easily become your go to accessory.

The Weekend Suit

[Suit] Selected Homme [Shirt] 7 for all mankind [Sweater] Marni [Portfolio] Zara [Sunglasses] Emporio Armani
[Pocket Square] Bottega Veneta [Shoes] G.H. Bass

When I’ve talked about suiting before I’ve always said that men should stick to the classics. Blues and grays are by far the most important suits that you should have in your wardrobe. After you have all the basics then it’s time purchase a few seasonal options such as a white linen for the summer or wool forest green suit for the colder months. A suit like the one I’m wearing doesn’t really fit into any suit purchasing guide. I will be the first to admit that there is absolutely no need for it and the average man should stay away from it. It’s an attention grabbing suit that if worn improperly will make you the look like your trying way to hard. However, with that being said if your looking for a fun suit to wear on the weekends then something like this might be perfect for you. It's not a piece that can be worn often but it's always possible to break it up and wear the trousers or jacket as a separate to get a few more wears out of your investment. What do you guys think about such a bold suit?

Shades Of Lino Ieluzzi

[Shirt] Dsquared2 [Trousers] Moschino [Blazer] Zara [Tie] Profuomo [Shoes] Loake Shoemakers
[Sunglasses] Trussardi [Watch] Daniel Wellington

I’m not sure what to call the color of my blazer. Is it light blue? Baby blue? Powder blue? Someone please help me! For this post let’s just call it Lino Ieluzzi blue. I’m sure many of you are familiar with Mr. Ieluzzi but for those who are not let me explain. Lino is somewhat of a fashion icon in the menswear world. He’s best known in Korea and Italy for his menswear shop Al Bazzar located in Milan as well as for his impeccable clothing style. It’s rare to see him not sporting a double breasted blazer and his signature number 7 tie. If you follow him on Instagram @linoieluzziofficial you will see some similarities in most of his ootd posts. He is almost always wearing this light blue color. When asked about it he said light blues and creams are his favorite colors so he tends to almost exclusively wear them. I’m not the biggest fan of this light “lino ielluzi" blue but I thought I’d give it a try and dedicate it to one of the gentlemen that inspires me the most. How did I do? Hope you all have a great weekend!

Airport Style 101

[Shirt] Karl Lagerfeld [Suit] Zara [Tie] Olymp [Shoes] Massimo Dutti [Sunglasses] Trussardi
[Luggage & Carry on Bag] Brics Milano [Portfolio & Bracelet] Bottega Veneta

Summer will soon be here and I’m sure many of you are planning your summer holidays or dreaming of relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Maldives. This past weekend I went on my first trip of the year to visit my family in New York. It started with a short flight from Hamburg, Germany to Amsterdam and then after a 3 hour stopover I boarded the plane for a nine hour flight to JFK New York. The total trip took around 14 hours so naturally one wants to be comfortable. But the question is what is comfortable? I could never say that cashmere sweatpants and a T-shirt are not comfortable when lounging around at home. The problem is in an airport is not home. There are thousands of people waiting for their plane with nothing to do other than sit and watch people. For this reason I don’t feel comfortable in sweatpants and would much rather present myself as a well dressed man. Not everyone may feel the same and I’m not saying my way is the only way but from experience I can honestly say that a suited man gets treated better than one in sweatpants. How do you guys dress when traveling? Let me know in the comment section below. Thanks for reading!

When The Rain Comes

[Blazer] Vito [Shirt] Dsquared [Coat] Mango [Jeans] Maison Martin Margiela [Tie] Drakes
[Shoes] G.H. Bass [Umbrella] Ted Baker [Glasses] Tods

Warmer weather, budding trees and longer days are all things that we look forward to when spring arrives. Unfortunately spring is also known for it’s rain, and where I am there sure are a lot of wet days. Last month I showed you one way to stay dry by wearing a piece of protective outwear. Today I’m showing another rainy day look for a casual day. This coat is a simple take on the classic trench coat. It’s shorter in length and doesn’t have an attached belt but it serves the same purpose. To protect myself even more I brought along my Ted Baker Umbrella. I highly suggest investing in a good quality umbrella. Not only will it look better and be an accessory to your outfit but it will also be much stronger than cheaper umbrellas on windy days. Footwear in the rain is always a challenge. I prefer suede shoes and wear them most of the time, however, we all know that suede and water are not the best of friends. There are great brands out there such as Swims, that make stylish footwear for the rain and then rain boots are always an option but not the best choice when it comes to appearance. What I like to do is wear a leather pair of shoes. If they are treated properly then there should be no problems in and your feet will stay dry during your commute. Hope you enjoy this look.

Dsquared2 Sweater Weather

[Sweater] Dsquared2 [Blazer] Zara [Vest] Aquascutum [Jeans] Nudie Jeans
[Sunglasses] Armani [Sneakers] Puma [Bracelet] Bottega Veneta

The day was dark and gloomy but after the rain stopped I decided to get out a bit and take a walk down by the water. As you can see the water near my house is far from clean and probably not the best place for swimming, but during a sunny day it’s filled with sail boats and hundreds of people walking or jogging along the river side. Today was a quiet day because of the poor weather, which made it perfect for photos. As you can see even with clouds I’m still wearing sunglasses. I noticed that I was about the only person doing this but I just feel that an outfit is not complete without some sort of eyewear. Plus I remember reading one time that the light on a cloudy day is just as dangerous for your eyes as the light on a bright sunny day, so it really never hurts to cover up your eyes. Today I’m wearing  a new pair that I just picked up from the Armani spring summer 2015 eyewear collection. The frame shape is so classic and really will go with a lot of clothes whether casual or formal so I’m glad they are now part of my fairly large sunglass collection. I’m also wearing another new piece, this patterned short sleeve sweater from Dsquared2. I really like the pattern and how it adds a bit of color to my outfit. Let me know what you think!
