A Day At The Polo Match [Berenberg Polo Derby]

[Shirt] Karl Lagerfeld [Suit] Zara [Tie] Profuomo [Shoes] Massimo Dutti [Sunglasses] Trussardi

If you ask me what the perfect summer day is I would be stuck between two answers. A day of shopping will forever be one of my favorite things. There’s nothing better than the feeling when you find something that looks great on you. But how could you say something negative about a relaxing day at a polo club watching horses gallop across the field while sipping on champagne. I had the privilege to attend the Hamburg Polo Club to watch the Berenberg Polo Derby this past weekend and apart from a few raindrops it was perfect. I wore a cream linen suit and kept things really neutral with a white shirt and brown loafers. A cream suit is piece that needs to be added to your wardrobe if you don’t already have one. It really is the perfect summer suit. Wear it on the weekends to special events such as I did or be bold and wear it to the office to stand out from the rest. It’s also a must if you plan on attending any summer weddings this year. As far as polo goes I’m not very educated on the rules of the game but that couldn’t be seen based off of my attire. You can never be overdressed so put on your best clothes and go make your dreams come true.

The Versatility Of A Three Piece Suit

[Suiting] Ben Sherman [Shirt] Karl Lagerfeld [Tie] Drakes [Shoes] Zara [Sunglasses] Trussardi [Watch] Daniel Wellington

A three piece suit is the definition of versatility. With one you can create so many outfits ranging from casual to business formal. That’s why when I’m purchasing a suit or having one made I will always try to get it with a vest. This allows me to style it in so many ways that wouldn’t be possible with a traditional two piece. In today’s look I did something that you don’t see very often. I wore the vest and jacket together with an odd pair of trousers. This keeps the formality but adds some individuality to the look. It shows that you put thought into your outfit and are ready to conquer the day in style. Would you rock this look? Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend.

Color Blocked

[Sweater] H.E. Mango [Shirt] Burberry [Pants & Shoes] Zara [Tie] Prada [Sunglasses] Italia Independent
[Watch] Daniel Wellington [Bracelet] Bottega Veneta

I’m one of those people who’s obsessed with jackets. It doesn’t matter if it’s a suit jacket or another form of outwear. That’s why in most of my looks you’ll see me wearing a blazer and might be wondering what happened today. Actually this look was created without any thought. I was organizing my wardrobe and found this older piece and was happy to find that it still fit. The color blocking is always on trend and I love the fact that it’s a v-neck allowing me to wear a tie to add a bit of detail. I’m thinking of occasionally styling some more simple outfits such as this one to add a little more variation to my lookbooks. I also have some great collaborations coming up so stayed tuned for that.

Missing Pitti Uomo 88 (Rainy Day Look)

[Raincoat] Minimum [Blazer] Diesel [Shirt] Burberry [Pants] Zara [Tie] Bows N Ties
[Shoes] G.H. Bass [Sunglasses] Giorgio Armani

Pitti Uomo 88 is wrapping up and I must say that I’m feeling a bit jealous after seeing all of the street style photos of men wearing their summer suits. Despite receiving some invitations from some well respected menswear brands I wasn’t able to attend the events in Florence this year but am looking forward to attending in the near future. As for my outfit today it’s all about the rain. Unfortunately I’ve posted before about rainy weather outwear. I wish I didn’t have to but with the amount of rain that Hamburg gets I can assure you that there will be more of these posts. This time I’m wearing a yellow rain coat, a piece that is most commonly seen on young school children. It may not be classic or formal enough for the boardroom but there is no better jacket to keep you dry. If yellow is too bold for you then check out this post from a few months ago featuring a more versatile blue raincoat from Versace. Hope you guys like the post and have a great weekend.

Just Leave It Open

[Blazer] Antony Morato [Cardigan] Fred Perry [Shirt] Gant [Jeans] The Kooples [Tie] Olymp [Shoes] Doucals [Sunglasses] Trussardi

There's a new breed of double breasted blazers. A piece that was once boxy is now slim fitting and can even be worn unbuttoned. You may be breaking the rules by doing this but it will add a modern and youthful look to your outfit. I find that it looks best when layering with a vest or cardigan just to add a little depth but the third layer could just as easily be left off during a hot day. Unfortunately here in Hamburg the weather has yet to warm up to summer temperatures so the layering needs to continue but hopefully soon I can start wearing full linen and cotton suits. While a large part of my summer wardrobe is staying tucked away at home I was at least able to break in these new suede loafers with yellow accented soles from Doucals. They are the perfect shoe to add that pop of color to your outfit. Hope you enjoy!

Floral Denim Days

[Jacket] Versace [Shirt] Burberry [Sweater] DKNY [Jeans] Nudie Jeans
[Sneakers] Puma [Sunglasses] Giorgio Armani

There’s been a debate going on in the menswear world for the past few years. Some say that prints are all the rage and should be worn and worn often, while others think that sticking to classic solid items creates a cleaner look and is a lot less risky. Normally I lean towards solids but there’s never a wrong time to experiment when it comes to clothes. When I got this Versace floral printed denim jacket I had no idea what to do with it. Such a bold pattern is definitely out of my comfort zone and on top of that I haven’t worn a denim jacket in several years. I thought the best thing to do is pair it with solids and let the bold printed jacket stand out and speak for it self. I pulled out some shades of blues and black from the jacket and started incorporating them into the outfit. I started with black jeans and added a blue sweater on top of a white shirt. White sneakers finished off this late spring look. I hope you guys like it.
