Days Off in Paisley Pants

[Blazer] Sisley [Shirt] Circolo 1901 [Pants] Club Monaco [Scarf] Donna Karan
[Shoes] Massimo Dutti [Pocket Square] Tiger Of Sweden

Days off, we all need them. For me a day off doesn’t mean doing nothing but rather doing all those little things that I always put off. For example picking up dry cleaning and going to the market. Unfortunately my day off happened to be the coldest day of the year but it’s still better than writing emails and drafting editorials. On days like this I dress as casual as possible and could care a less about what others think. Sometimes we all need a few days off and even though it may not be the most glamorous time it shouldn’t be something to hide. After a few more relaxing days and a long holiday weekend i’ll be back feeling rejuvenated and ready to start 2016 on a good note. Hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks for reading!

New Years Eve Outfit Ideas [Featuring Windsor]

Windsor NYE

The Formal Gala

New Years Eve is fast approaching and that means stress about what to wear is starting to kick in.

If you're attending some kind of a black tie event or gala then it’s best to stick the basics. A well tailored

Windsor black tuxedo will always get the job done. Pair that with a simple black silk bow tie and black

slippers and you’re ready to go. Make sure not to forget about outerwear. A black double breasted

overcoat is the perfect choice.

Bars And Fireworks

Most of us probably won’t be attending something formal this year but still want to dress up a bit. If

you're bar hopping or out watching fireworks then this is the look for you. Dress down your grey

business trousers and blue blazer with a nice printed wool tie and pocket square. Leather tassel loafers

will add the perfect touch of class. Once again you’ll need some outerwear while walking from bar to

bar. A long down coat will be thick enough to protect you from the elements and can be easily taken off

when its time to get your dance on.

A House Party

So this year you decided not to do anything crazy. That's fine. You can still have tons of fun at home or

at a friends house. Obviously dressing formally is not necessary but you still want to look good. Wear

your favorite sweater under a white or blue shirt and some light colored chinos to make you stand out in

a room full of jeans. A coat is not really needed but if you think you might be drinking champagne out on

the patio then a casual duffle coat will keep you warm and looking stylish.

The Black Watch Plaid Blazer

[Blazer] Tommy Hilfiger [Trousers] Tailor4Less [Sweater] Marni [Shirt] Burberry
[Shoes] Zara [Sunglasses] Trussardi

With tonight being Christmas Eve and tomorrow being the big day you’ll find festive dressing inspiration everywhere. The most popular choice is of course the ‘Ugly’ Christmas sweater and all those reindeer antler headbands. I took a more classic approach but still showed a bit of holiday spirit. Tartan or more specifically black watch plaid is about as Christmas of a fabric as there is. The texture screams casual holiday party and the colors shine perfectly under evening lighting making it the perfect choice. I paired mine with equally festive wine red trousers. It’s perfect because if you spill a little on yourself it will blend right in but let’s try not to do that this year. I went tieless because sometimes a tie is just too much. I know many of us have a love for formalwear but there is a time and a place and being the only one in a tie just makes you and everyone around you uncomfortable. Wear a simple shirt and sweater instead and let the blazer be the star. Hope you enjoy and have a very merry Christmas Eve. Thanks for reading!

Holiday Office Party Attire

Monday! Normally it’s a depressing day but this week is different. Christmas is almost here making it a time filled with

gift giving, feasting and of course your holiday office and work parties. This is an event where normal office dress

codes are thrown out the window and you’re free to show the true you. I can assure you ugly Christmas sweaters will be

seen but let’s stay away from that this year. Instead try to dress up your favorite pair of jeans. It’s really not a difficult

task if you stick to fairly neutral colors and a maximum of two patterns. Pick a nice textured blazer and some knitwear

to show your casual side. To add that attention grabbing element wear a bold tie and some christmas themed socks.

Now you’re ready to enjoy that laid back office atmosphere. Have fun!

Why You Need A Watch [Featuring Daniel Wellington]

Think of a simpler time, a time without iPhones, a time where watches were the most important piece you had. Ok, I

thought about it for a minute and got deeply depressed. I wouldn’t be able to function without my phone and I’m sure all

of you are the same. Without it I would never get anywhere on time. But wait, what about watches? Well a watches sole

purpose ‘was’ to tell time. So why do we need them and why are they now more popular than ever before?

Probably the biggest reason that men are wearing watches today is to add a little something to their outfit. We don’t

have many chances to wear jewelry but a good watch is always something we can confidently rock. Sure a naked wrist

is fine but a wrist with a timepiece is something to look twice at. Wear yours with a casual outfit to add that pop of

coolness or wear it with a suit and tie create an extra level of class. A well designed sleek watch can easily be dressed

up or down so if you’re not into suits then a watch will also look great with your sneakers and jeans.

I know I said we have our phones to tell time but lets face it, sometimes it’s just not appropriate to pull it out and

check the time. Let’s say your in a meeting bored out of your mind. Looking at your phone would be completely

disrespectful to whoever’s talking but a quick glance at your watch wouldn’t even be noticed. Or lets make it even more

relatable and say you’re on a first date and it's not going so well. Just move the hour hand forward a few hours and act

shocked about how the time flew by so fast and how you've gotta head home. Actually that’s a terrible idea.

Please don’t do that! Just have another drink.

The great thing about a watch is that you can have it and wear it forever. The same can’t be said about many other

pieces in your wardrobe. I’m pretty sure this blazer I’m wearing will be out of rotation in about a year but the watch will

most definitely still be center stage on my jewelry table. Invest in a quality watch and it could proudly be passed down

to your children or just kept for yourself because there's nothing wrong with being selfish.

If you haven’t already got a go to watch or if you’re looking to build your collection then check out Daniel Wellington. I'm

sure you know them. It's what all the cool kids are wearing. They make some of the sleekest watches on the market

and have a great variety of styles and straps to choose from. I'm wearing the Dapper York watch made exclusively for

those dapper gentleman but there are plenty of other options out there. Have a look at their Instagram page

@danielwellington for tons of inspiration on how to wear your soon to be new watch.

Adding New Life To Old Sweaters

[Sweater] Tommy Hilfiger [Coat] H&M x David Beckham [Shoes] Calvin Klein [Sunglasses] Trussardi

Remember last week when we talked about a simple white t-shirt being a staple in most mens wardrobes? Well another piece worn countlessly by men has to be the sweater. This can be a solid v-neck, a graphic or printed sweater, or a cable knit such as what I’m wearing. They’re simple to wear so we often gravitate towards them. However styling them in new ways can be a challenge. When getting up in the morning it’s so easy to grab a sweater and pair of jeans and head out. But why not switch out your dark denim for a clean white pair. If you’re wearing a darker sweater then this would create the perfect fresh look. It’s a very small change but can make a big difference. If you’re not yet sold on white denim then I don’t know what to tell you. You’re really missing out. Also if for some reason you don’t already have a camel coat then please go out and get one. There really is no better coat to complete all your winter looks. Check out some of my favorites below if your still on the hunt for the perfect coat. Thanks for reading!

Heavily Accessorizing The Blue Blazer

[Shirt] Burberry [Blazer] Circolo 1901 [Jeans] Nudie Jeans [Tie] Drakes [Shoes] G.H. Bass

I’ve got tons of questions about how to style a blue blazer casually. It can be done in many many ways but I thought I’d show something a bit different today. I know I’m wearing a tie but ties can be casual. Can’t they? This is probably the most casual a tie can get. Anyways, I’m wearing my blue blazer with black jeans and a white shirt. Denim is a great way to dress anything down. I also went a bit overboard on the accessories and added tons of color. Bright colors are not often worn in formal outfits so wear them with that blazer of yours to dress it down. It’s pretty simple actually. You can use the blue blazer and white shirt as a blank palette and just have fun adding different accessories and playing with colors. I also wore a beat up pair or loafers to really emphasize the casualness. How do you dress down a blazer? Thanks for reading as always!
