What To Do On A Rainy Spring Day

The saying goes that April showers bring May flowers. Well I certainty hope that’s the case because this April has

seen a lot of rain (at least where I'm at). As a look out the window now I see rain falling and there's no signs of it

stopping any time soon. It can be depressing but I’ve come up with a few things to do when it's raining that have made

my days a little less miserable and will hopefully cheer yours up as well.

Cook A Gourmet Dinner

Eating can make even the worst of moods better. Try cooking something Michelin Star worthy. It doesn’t matter if you're experienced in the kitchen or not. Creating a beautiful and delicious meal is a great feeling. If you need some help thinking of a menu check out my favorite cook book GQ Eats or have a look at BBC Food for some great recipes.

Go To A Cafe

Ok this is an obvious one. Go to your favorite cafe, order a latte, find a window seat and just relax. There's nothing wrong with a little people watching plus it sure makes the time go by. If you're me you'd bring a computer and get a little work done or you could find a good book and do some reading.

Walk In The Rain

This one’s not for everything but a walk in the rain can be peaceful as long as there’s not hurricane force wind. Grab a rain coat and and sturdy umbrella and enjoy the clean air that rainfall brings. If you like photography then bring your camera and take some pics. Mother nature can be beautiful.

Go To A Shopping Mall

Shopping always makes me happy but when the rains falling I hate to be on the streets going from store to store. Luckily we have shopping malls with all the stores under one roof. Malls are starting to die out but if there’s a good one within driving distance then it may be worth going to.

Work Out

If you’ve got a gym membership then don’t let the lousy weather stop you from going. Working out is a great way to get rid of some anger and if your gym has a swimming pool and sauna then you could literally stay there for hours. Oh and if your not already a member of a gym then sign up. Your body will thank you.

Stay Home

There’s no reason to leave your house. Just stay home and have a “You Day”. Whether that means making new outfits (that’s what I love to do), sitting with a cup tea or doing a face mask, the choice is yours. I can never get enough me time so I like to take advantage or the miserable weather and make it all about relaxing.

Hope this helps make your rainy spring days a little less sad. Thanks for reading!

Best Mens Face Masks [Beauty & Grooming]

Skin care is something that most men, including myself, often over look. As I get older I’ve realized that clean and healthy skin has a huge effect on ones confidence and appearance. Sure drinking enough water, eating healthy and getting a good nights sleep will contribute to clear skin but cleansers, moisturizing creams, and toners can’t be forgotten. Today we’ll be taking a look at face masks and why they’ve recently become one of the biggest beauty trends out there. I’ll share with you some of my favorites and why they may work for you.

1. Mask Of Magnaminty

Claiming to "make dirt a distant memory” this clay and peppermint based deep cleansing mask from Lush is a great affordable choice for those wanting to try out a mask without dropping bank. The ground aduki beans will wash away all your flaky and dry skin while the vanilla and honey will soothe and reduce any redness.

2. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Face Mask

Charcoal is a popular ingredient among face masks. It acts as a magnet to draw out all that dirt and grime that’s built up throughout the day. If you have oily and acne prone skin then you’ll need something that will leave your face feeling clean and pure and this charcoal mask from Origins will do just that.

Shop: Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

3. Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque

Made with Amazonian white clay and bentonite this product will eliminate any dirt and toxins that are clogging your pores and the addition of aloe vera will soften and sooth your sensitive skin. Use one to two times a week to help minimize the appearance of pores and purify your skin.

4. Tom Ford Intensive Purifying Mud Mask

A busy schedule with long work hours can really take a toll on your skin. This mud mask was designed with that in mind. After 10 minutes on your skin you’ll be feeling clean and hydrated and look revitalized. This is the perfect mask for any hard working man.

5. Freeman Feeling Beauty Facial Clay Mask

Drug store brand masks are always an option. Try this mint and lemon based mask from Freeman’s to reduce oily skin and prevent breakouts. If anything, this mask will make you feel cleaner and fresher than no mask at all. Pick it up for only $8 on Amazon.

High Water Trousers And Statement Footwear

[Vest] Ralph Lauren [Shirt] BD Baggies [Sweater] H&M [Trousers] Zara [Shoes] GH Bass

Happy Friday y’all. It’s been a while since I’ve posted an OOTD on a friday, actually I've been a bit low on content the last few weeks but that'll pick up. A new series introducing some of my favorite menswear brands will be coming out in about a week plus I’m gonna start posting some more opinion pieces where you’ll be able to learn a little more about what goes on inside my head. Of course outfits will be regularly posted for those style lovers. Today’s look is casual Friday at it’s most casual. I built the look around these new ‘high water trousers’. I normally wear my pants with no break and always a little ankle showing but never to this extreme. I thought I’d give it a go and try my best to style them in a casual and different way. My biggest tip for wearing such high break trousers is to have your shoe game is on point. Your ankles will be getting a lot of attention so make sure you're wearing killer kicks to impress all those lookers. What do you think? Thanks as always for reading and have a great weekend!

The Shirt Jacket [Shacket]

[Shirt] Dsquared [Jacket] H&M [Pants & Shoes] Zara [Tie] Canepa [Watch] Daniel Wellington

Spring is tricky. Sometimes just a shirt will do but other times you’d be close to freezing without a jacket. Luckily there’s a perfect piece of clothing to fit this unpredictable season. The shacket. It’s what you get when you combine a shirt and jacket. A little thicker than your average shirt but not quite as thick as your heavier jackets. A piece like this is great to have and can be styled in a multitude of ways. Like with most pieces of clothing, fit is key! The shacket should have enough room so you layer a shirt or light sweater under but also be slim enough that adding an overcoat wouldn’t be a problem. Shackets come in lots of different materials but I find denim and wool are the most versatile and can easily fit in with most things in your closet. For me personally I think that switching them out for a blazer is a fun thing to do from time to time. Shackets aren't exactly meant to be worn with a tie but that's no reason not to. What do you all think? Thanks as always for reading!

My Letter To Kobe Bryant

Dear Kobe,

You may be just an NBA player to most, but to me you're much more. Growing up I was obsessed with the sport of basketball and one of the biggest Laker fans you could find. Day after day I looked up to you and tried to replicate every move you made on the court. Fast forward 6 years and you continue to impact my life in ways that no others have.

Sure my basketball days are behind me and my days of practicing your infamous fadeaway are long gone but you're effect on me is much deeper than basketball. You taught me that if I put the work in, anything is possible. I know that your skills are not a gift from god but rather proof of the thousands of hours that you've been in the gym working on you're craft. You've created a name for yourself and embraced the criticism and the negativity that came with it.

Fashion blogging is definitely different from basketball but the competition factor is still there. There are a ton of well dressed bloggers who create original content and have hopes of making it big. I don’t dream of internet fame and I use my blog as a platform to share my style and hopefully inspire others. However, I need to make a living and with blogging that’s impossible without success.

To reach my blogging goals I try to create my own path rather than looking at others for advice. It might not always work out and sure I fail at times but I quickly think of a new plan and get back to work. This mindset of mine is entirely due to the struggles that you've gone through and your willingness to never give up and to prove to yourself and others that you belong where you are.

There are times when I have no energy and just want to escape my troubles. There are time when I start a project with no creative direction and wonder how I will ever finish. There are times when I think others are better than me. But at every small challenge I say to myself Kobe wouldn’t give up. All I have to do is think about you scoring 81 and think about all the times you've literally willed your team to a victory and it always gets me back on track and keeps me going.

So Kobe I want to say thanks for 20 years of entertaining basketball and thank you for inspiring me in a way that no one else has.

Your Basketball career is over but your legend lives on

Black And White Spring Day Look

[Blazer] Zara [Coat] Sisley [Pants] Viktor & Rolf [T-Shirt] H&M [Shoes] G.H. Bass

My wardrobe consists mostly of blues and grays which allow me to add colorful accessories and make my outfits pop. Black is a color that I for the most part never wear simply because I don’t have that many black pieces but it’s a color that should never be forgotten. A classic black and white outfit pretty much will work for any occasion plus you can never mess up with matching. I went for a casual suited look inspired from Dolce & Gabbana. A white double breasted blazer over a black T-shirt is a great way to stay tailored and comfortable at the same time. Stick with black pants and a black coat to finish the look. If you want less black then just switch out some of the darker pieces for white and you’ll have a much more summery look. Like the look? Shop it below! Thanks for reading.

Working With The CaseApp Marble MacBook Skin

So you just got home after a long day and even though it’s time to relax, you just can’t stop thinking about all that

unfinished work. Sure you could go sit down and get working on those emails but there’s a better option. Work in bed!

Yep that’s right. Let your tie loose, make a coffee and just lay down with your computer by your side. This may go

against everything anyone's ever taught you but laying in bed can actually be very productive.

When working in bed there are a few things you need. First of all you need to be wearing comfortable clothes. Suits off

and sweats on. Next make sure it’s nice and bright. A dark bed will only make you sleepy but a bright room with fresh

flowers and coffee will keep you awake and feeling cheery. Try dressing up your computer with a nice case from

CaseApp. My marble printed Macbook skin has me never wanting to leave it’s side. Finally try to stay away from

Youtube. It can be a challenge but once it’s open you’ll never get back to work. Thanks for reading!

How To Wear Your Turtleneck This Spring

[Vest] Suitsupply [Turtleneck] John Smedley [Shirt] Dsquared2 [Trousers] H&M
[Shoes] NoBrand [Gloves] Bottega Veneta [Watch] Daniel Wellington

This past winter it seems that the world has grown to embrace the turtleneck sweater  as a stylish sweater option. They are warm, comfortable and look great paired with just about anything. Now that the weather’s slowly starting to become springlike you might be thinking it’s time to pack away your turtlenecks, but think again. They are the perfect piece to transition your style from winter to spring. Try wearing yours under a vest or waistcoat with a pair of wool trousers such as what I’m doing or add a blazer for some extra warmth. For chilly mornings wear a topcoat which can easily be taken off for the warmer afternoons. Going to the office? Wear a solid turtleneck under your suit or if you’re heading off to class try wearing one its own with a cool hat. The options really are endless. Hope you like the look and thanks for reading!
