Check Linen Blazer X Dotted Tie

[Blazer & Shoes] Zara [Pants] Moschino [Shirt] Ganesh [Tie] Profuomo

First I want to admit that I failed with these photos. I thought being backlit by the sun would be a nice effect but it just didn’t work as well as I thought it would and now I’m stuck between having no outfit to post this week or giving you these photos. I guess you know what I choose to do but I definitely learned from this. Anyway, now on to the outfit. You guy’s know I love printed blazers. This particular blazer, while it is printed, isn’t as bold as others and could most likely be worn just about anywhere. Sure linen isn’t made to be worn to the office but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be an option in the middle of summer. For the shirt and tie I pulled colors out of the blazer and went with dark navy pants to complete the look. My pants as always have no break and I was caught off guard when taking these photos as an older woman approached me and said “your pants are way to short to wear with those shoes”. I’ll give my thoughts about that on a designated post coming next week. Thanks for reading!

The Best Street Style Photos From Pitti Uomo 90

Pitti Uomo 90 came and went and now it's time for another edition of my favorite street style photos. I'm an admirer of

classical menswear (with modern twists) so most of these photos are of the best "suited" outfits but I've included a few

of my favorite casual looks as well. Hope you guys enjoy!

My June 2016 Wish List

Loro Piani Mid-Length Swim Shorts

It's almost vacation time and people will soon be rushing to the stores to find the perfect new pair of swim shorts. Unfortunately most of us waited till the last minute and now everything's picked over. Be smart and buy online where the options are endless. If you're looking for a quality pair of basic swim shorts then these Loro Piani's are definitely for you. Prints are always fun at the beach but I'm staying with something solid this year that can be styled with a polo shirt and is a smart option for lunch by the shore.

Available at Mr Porter
Suitsupply Havana Linen Blue Stripe

It's a suit and yes it's blue but it's not just another blue suit. This suit is gorgeous and it's top on my shopping list right now. The added vest makes it even better and extremely versatile. Like all Suitsupply products you are guaranteed quality at an affordable price. If you get it before me please don't say anything because I'll be extremely jealous.

Available at Suitsupply

Native Union iPhone Charging Cable

I break my iPhone charging cable all the time. Like seriously I get a new one every couple of months. It's probably because it's always thrown in my bag and I even roll over it in my sleep. But the point is I need a strong cable that's tough enough to survive living with me. This Native Union piece looks like it could be the one. It has a textile wrapped cord that's definitely stronger then the one's apple provides plus it has a cool leather belt.

Available at Eastdane

Topman Cuban Collar Shirt

I've recently had my eyes on some cuban collar shirts. They are super in right now and I've been inspired from seeing them all over my Instagram feed. I'm still not entirely sure how I'm going to style them but I promise you that you'll see a cuban color shirt on my blog before the summer ends.

Available at Topman
Salvatore Ferragamo Sunglasses

These are just so cool. I pretty much only wear round framed glasses nowadays but I have nothing with such a big frame liked these. Of course they are made for causal wear but I could see myself wearing these with a suit for a statement. They also come in black but I'm going with brown to match all those brown shoes and accessories I have.

Available at Salvatore Ferragamo

Tom Daxon Sicilian Wood Body Care Set

Everyone's always talking about colognes and for good reason but a well scented shower gel is just as important. I've been trying a lot of different ones recently and as my current bottle of Cartier is running low this Tom Daxon set is next in line. It's described as having fresh citrus notes balanced by spicy amber, sandalwood and cedar undertones. Well I'm no fragrance snob but that sounds pretty damn good to me.

Suited Up Breton Sweater

[Suit] Zara [Shirt] Dsquared2 [Sweater] Scotch & Soda [Sneakers] Adidas

So it was raining, just like it’s been doing for the last couple of days and it will for the next few. I wish I could be wearing more summery clothing and less layers like I did last week but for now it’s me trying to incorporate spring/summer pieces into more weather appropriate outfits. Today I took on the famous breton sweater. This white and blue striped sweater is pretty much as nautical as you can get. It’s often styled and worn on it’s own with a pair of white jeans or summer chinos and is a go to for summer vacations. Because of the not so summer like weather, I decided to layer it up over a white oxford shirt and wear it with a casual gray suit. Yes, I know this outfit doesn’t exactly scream summer but hopefully I can get back to some warmer weather outfits next week. Thanks as always for reading!

Short Sleeved Linen Sweater Weather

[Shirt] Zara [Jeans] Maison Margiela [Shoes] Sperry [Watch] Daniel Wellington

I don’t have anything against a plain cotton tee. I actually think they're a great layering piece and look really fresh under a blazer with a pair of sneakers. But a cotton tee on it’s own is just something I can’t pull off. Maybe you can but it’s not for me. With that being said sometimes you need to let your arms soak in the sun and that’s where a short sleeved sweater comes into play. First off I love the texture that knits have and one woven from linen will be extremely breathable and cool. Secondly, knit just look more luxurious. I’m not sure why but when it comes to style points a solid cotton tee can really never beat the more elegantly knitted short sleeved sweater. Wear it with some summer appropriate smart trousers or denim and a pair of loafers and you’re set for the hottest of summer days. I think we can all agree this looks better than a screen printed tee with some baggy cargo shorts. Thanks as always for reading!

What's In My Bag [Men's Edition]

The "what’s in my bag” trend has been going on for a few years now so I thought I’d do a mens edition. First off I’d like to answer a question that I get far too often. Why do I always have a bag? Well I use it as an accessory to add a little extra something to my outfits but I’ve also got things I need with me at all times. I think it’s a much better choice to use a bag rather than be bulging at the pockets. Now let’s reveal what's in my bag.

I don’t use cash very much. I’m the kind of person that will pay even for a 5 dollar coffee with a card but it’s definitely useful to have some cash and coins around for tipping and parking meters. I don’t want to be jingling with change with every step so I add a few coins  to my bag before I leave in the morning just in case they’re needed.

Cologne and a comb are pretty much essential and every man should have them at all times. You always want to look your best and smell your best. I always check my hair at every mirror I see and by carrying a travel sized cologne with you, you won’t ever have to worry about summer heat. Eyeglasses are of course optional but I like my eyes framed, so when I’m indoors I tend to remove my sunglasses and wear my clear frames instead.

You might be asking why I keep a watch in my bag but it’s because I’m not always wearing a watch and even on days when I am, I still keep an extra in my bag. Let’s say I’m wearing a brown watch then I’ll keep a black in my bag just in case I need it when I’m styling an outfit. And if I’m not wearing a watch then it’s nice to have one on occasions when I want to take off my jacket and roll up my sleeves. Keeping a few bracelets handy is also a great idea.

Finally my iPad. I sometimes carry my Macbook around with me but it’s big and heavy and I leave it at home if I can. I use the iPad during the day for everything from checking emails to catching up on my favorite blogs. I decided to leave my phone out of the photos because I’m on it so much that’s its almost always in my hand or in my jackets inside pocket. Anyways thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this fun little post.

The Summer Brown Blazer

[Blazer] Neill Katter [Shirt] Gant [Vest] WE Fashion [Pants] H&M [Tie] Altea Milano [Shoes] Mango

So you saw my last post with Windsor explaining the art of wearing solids. Today I may not be wearing many solid pieces, but I am wearing brown, which was one of the main colors I focused on in that post. Brown is far too often overlooked by younger men. The brown suit on it’s own, mainly because of it’s rarity, can be a statement; however I think a brown blazer is a much better choice. By wearing it with any shade of blue, white and cream you are pretty much guaranteed to have a unique outfit. The problem arises when you go out shopping. A slim fit unlined brown blazer is almost impossible to find. The best choice is to go custom and with some great online made to measure shops out there such as Tailor4Less, this can be done relatively easily and inexpensively. Your next option is to head to Suitsupply. They have a few brown pieces in their collection and they’ve also got great made to measure services in all of their stores. Lastly you could just go browsing in every menswear shop you see. Unfortunately chances are low that you’ll find something that fit's you perfectly in brown but do your best and there are always tailors to make any needed adjustments. Thanks for reading.
