A Big Pop Of Yellow

I guess you could say I was feeling springy but I’m not one to normally dress for the weather. It could be a beautiful spring day and you’d find me in all black or it could be overcast and I’d be covered in color. I’ve learned to wear what I want and when I feel like it and I think that's the best way to approach outfit making. This outfit is pretty similar to what most guys wear. A pair of jeans and a sweater. I once thought looks like these were way to simple to make an appearance on my blog but I’ve reconsidered and think its important to show how basics pieces can still look cool. Like with most outfits it all comes down to the accessories. An awesome bag will certainly help stylize the look and the same goes for a kick ass pair of shades. It’s not always about trying hard to separate yourself from the crowd. Sometimes fitting in while being stylish is even better. If you’re here because of the yellow sweater then I've got you covered. Bold and bright colors look great in the spring so I’ve chosen a few of my favorite pieces below. Thanks for stopping by!

Who Said Grey Was Boring?

[Suit] Zara [Turtleneck] John Smedley [Sneakers] Steve Madden [Glasses] Glasses Shop

You don’t see me in a full suit that often. It’s not that I dislike them or find them ugly but I do feel for the most part that they lack style and creativity. If you work a 9-5 office job then you’ll most likely be wearing a solid grey or navy business suit 5 days of the week. It’s basically a uniform and apart from having your suit tailored to perfection there are very few other things that can be done to show your true style. Because of this a grey suit is sometimes over looked as a stylish option. That is of course unless it’s cut from a beautiful and unique cloth. This bold glen plaid suit that I’m wearing doesn’t need to be heavily accessorized nor does it need the addition of a colorful shirt and tie. This is the kind of suit that makes heads turn and trust me I know because I received countless compliments the day I wore it. I think this  proves that grey isn’t as boring as many say it is. Thanks as always for reading!

The Versatile Check Blazer

[Jeans] Nudie Jeans [Blazer] Zara [Shirt] Tailor4Less [Tie] Altea Milano

This check blazer just jumped into my list of favorite pieces. The fit is pretty spot on and I love how versatile it is. Here I’m wearing it with a pair of dark wash denim and a more dressy banker shirt and tie. Keeping to my somewhat simple style I decided to not mix patterns and let the blazer be the focal point. If you’re looking for a more night time appropriate look then keep on the same blazer and jeans and wear a black button up or polo shirt. For a weekend look out with friends try a solid colored turtleneck, a pair of white sneakers and your favorite baseball cap. It’s hard to call any blazer versatile unless it’s your go to navy piece but I do believe that a checked blazer can make countless outfits. You’ll just have to be a bit more careful and make sure to not overwear it because a piece this beautiful is easy to remember. Thanks for reading!

Suited Up Shearling Coat

[Coat] Zara [Shoes] Doucals [Tie] Profuomo [Sunglasses] Glasses Shop

It’s officially spring but with the occasional cold day I still haven’t been able to put away my winter coats for the season. Around this time of the year I always get very bored of my winter wardrobe and become anxious to pull out spring pieces. I’ve had to experiment more and more with layering to continue to make my cold weather outfits unique. Here I’m wearing my absolute favorite coat. Normally I would pair it with dark denim and a turtleneck. It’s simple and lets the coat really stand out, but there are only so many times I can wear that combo without hating it. This time I decided to try to dress it up a bit. A double breasted blazer was the only option and actually looks pretty good contrasted against this more casual coat. What do you guys think of what will definitely be my last winter look for now?

Menswear Humor Courtesy Of @croquissartoriaux

"A grey suit? Why should we sell grey suits? What about having a look at some funeral parlor?"

"Firstly, he began going on specialized forum on the Internet, reading blogs... Then he changed the way he dressed and met only people like him. Actually, his friends say they don't recognize him. He only eats pasta (all'arrabiata like in Napoli he says), and strikes a pose 5 times a day in the direction of Florence. Experts consider Maurice (who now wants to be called Maurizio) is a very rare case of sartorial online auto radicalization"

"Sure, falling was painful. But believe me, the pain was nothing in comparison with what I felt when the surgeon began cutting my bespoke jacket's sleeve to operate!"

"And it's only when I was in the subway that I realized the scale of the tragedy: i was wearing brown bluchers with a grey suit!! No way I can come back home, I live since this morning in fear of meeting a friend that would make an ironical comment, or worst, meeting a dapper stranger that would see me, say nothing, but of whom silent disapproval would be the most serious affront"

"Me? Getting my hunting license ? Thanks but no... I'm only here to pay off the purchasing of my tweed sport coats!"

"Sure, with this freezing cold, I could just have closed my coat. But you must admit it would have been such a "pitti" to hide to everybody this wonderful riot of colors, fabrics and patterns made by the multiple layering I had to combine thanks to this above mentioned freezing cold !"

"I don’t care whether it’s rainy or it’s windy; since today, I’m legally allowed to wear my spring outfit !"

An Athleisurely Take On The Half Zip Sweater

Here we go again with another pop of color and yes it’s another sweater. I’ll have some more dapper looks coming soon but for now to survive these below zero NYC temperatures I’m living in knitwear. This time I’m trying out a zippered collar. This style could easily be mistaken for your fathers Ralph Lauren sweaters but I promise you they’re not. Zippered neck lines are trending right now and can be found in all the high street shops as well as your pick of designer brands. They certainly aren’t formal and I know many people have the idea that they look great over a shirt and tie but I strongly disapprove of that look. It’s middle aged, basic and lacks originality. Instead wear it have way zipped with a little skin showing. But don’t zip it all the way down. Trust me you don’t want to look like “that guy”. Shop some of my favorites below and thanks as always for stopping by!

Those Buck Mason Essentials

I could just go on about how much I love this striped tee or how I think a striped tee is one of the biggest essentials for the spring and summer but I won’t. I’ll save that for another post. Instead let’s chat about Buck Mason. If you haven’t heard of them before, they are pretty much the perfect brand for the normal dude. By normal I mean the guy that cares about his appearance. He’s aware of the fact that style and fit are incredibly important in todays world but wearing a suit or rocking runway trends just don’t fit in with daily life.

He wears pieces that just make sense. I’m talking about pieces that are wearable and versatile. Jeans. tees, leather jackets and hoodies. We all love them and need them so you might as well have good ones that will last. Buck Mason has you covered with affordable pieces that look cool AF. Shop some of my favorites down below!

My Favorite S/S 17 Pieces

[Light Blue Brushed Chambray Shirt] [Black Slim Stretch Jean] [Resin Slub Hoodie]
[Sand Chino] [The Moto Jacket] [3-Month Wash Slim Stretch Jean]

Colorful Sweater Weather [Featuring Tom Ford]

[Sweater] Tom Ford [Pants] H&M [Coat] Sisley [Loafers] G.H. Bass [Portfolio] DapperTime [Glasses] EyeBuyDirect

It’s pretty clear to see that my love for sweaters is strong. My love with bold colors on the other hand is still growing but I’m starting to open up to the idea of incorporating more color into my outfits. I knew I wanted to wear something colorful as a contrast on my normally very blue and grey Instagram feed but I wasn’t sure where to start. I had a look through my wardrobe and found this sweater that always just seems to be sitting there collecting dust. I tried it on and fell in love all over again. The slightly oversized fit along with the beautiful shade of purple matched perfectly with slim black trousers and a black overcoat. So if you’re like me and struggle with color then starting with a sweater is
definitely the way to go. Thanks for dropping by!

Snowy Soho Style

Snowy Soho Style

This snowy struggle is real. Seriously, I love snow and I’d choose it any time over rain but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s cold and quickly turns to a dirty mess. Exploring in a blizzard sure is fun but only if you’re properly prepared. As much as I love my wool topcoats I knew they wouldn’t be a good choice so I grabbed my trusty long parka. I wanted to stay comfortable so I paired it with a scuba knit sweatshirt and a pair of light wash denim. I know ripped jeans and white kicks might not come to mind when thinking of the perfect blizzard gear but it worked just fine for me. I finished off the look with a few important accessories and hit the streets. I hope you guys like the look.
